$1 Million Powerball Winner in Sikeston Says the Experience was ‘Surreal’

Apr 01, 2026

After quadruple checking the winning Powerball numbers following the March 11 drawing, a Missouri Lottery player was taken aback as he realized he had just won $1 million.

“When I saw I had five numbers, I knew the prize had to be up there,” the winner exclaimed. “I think I started hyperventilating when I entered my numbers and saw the amount!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart, 1303 S. Main St. in Sikeston, and matched all five white-ball numbers drawn – 3, 6, 55, 58 and 63 – on March 11. The Powerball number that night was 12.

“The whole thing is just so surreal!” he shared.

Powerball is a multi-state Draw game with drawings held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 8:59 p.m.

In FY25, players in Scott County won more than $10.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $985,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.8 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
