A Missouri Lottery player in Kansas City has his wife to thank after claiming a top prize on a “$100,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers ticket.

“I was hanging out with my wife and kids, and she said, ‘We should get some Scratchers,’” the winner recalled. “So, I went and picked up four.”

One of the tickets he purchased at The Station 2, 8050 N. Brighton Ave. in Kansas City, held one of five top prizes offered in the “$100,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers game.

“We were excited,” the winner laughed. “Both of us started screaming and we were rolling on the floor.”

To date, players have won more than $4.4 million in prizes since the ticket was released on Jan. 26. Currently, two additional top prizes remain unclaimed.

In FY25, Clay County players won more than $39.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $17.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
